A few weeks ago, we did what we do best, and found somewhere new to enjoy lunch on a sunny autumn day.

Rather than making the trip into Bath where we often eat, we decided to venture to Bradford-on-Avon so that we could enjoy a walk around the pretty town and go to one of the restaurants that I keep saying we should try.

The Weaving Shed

The Weaving Shed is a stunning restaurant that looks out over the River Avon, which runs through Bradford-on-Avon (as you would guess by the name).

It’s somewhere that my colleagues have always recommended but somewhere I was yet to try. So after a walk around, we took a quick look at their menu and decided that was the place for us.

The restaurant has beautiful floor to ceiling windows that let in all of the light, allowing a view to the outside eating area and the river beyond it. I particularly liked that the tables were all very well spread out, with a lot of space between them. I hate it when you go to restaurants and they cram every single inch of space with tables. Instead, the Weaving Shed focused on their food and their service rather than fitting in lots of tables to try and push sales.

For food, we ordered some cheese gougeres (delicious little choux puffs filled with cheese) and black pudding bonbons for nibbles. These were then followed by a burger for me and haddock and chips for Scott.

Overall, the food was absolutely divine. The twice cooked chips were to die for and my burger was full of flavour, well seasoned and juicy.

All of the staff were attentive and cheerful, making us feel welcome and relaxed from the moment we arrived. From our table we could see the chefs calmly going about their work which was quite therapeutic to watch!

If anyone is ever visiting Bradford-on-Avon, I highly recommend you visit the Weaving Shed during your time there.
